Hours & Bookings
Open every Saturday and Sunday 12PM - 5PM in the lead up to Christmas. If you are wanting a table between 12PM -2PM for lunch, please do book to help our kitchen planning. Please get in touch to book a table using the form below.
Payment: We have a one bill per table policy, but for groups who wish to pay separately, we are happy to split a tables total bill evenly by the number of people on the table. For example - a bill for a table of 10 would be divided evenly by 10. We are unable to accomodate any other kind of bill-splitting requests.
Please note: the wine bar will be closed 28/29 December 2024 and 4/5 January 2025, reopening on Saturday 11 January. Our last weekend of the summer season before we close for harvest is March 1/2 2025.
See our News & Events page for more information on what pop ups we have coming up.
Christmas
If you are interested in having a team, family or friends Christmas celebration at Alexia, please get in touch to discuss your needs. Whether you are a small or large group we are bound to have a solution for you - we’ve hosted many groups big and small over the years from private lunches to fun group tastings… just let us know!
The Alexia Experience
Alexia isn’t your usual winery and vineyard experience. No vines, no sweeping rural vista…just our little winery and wine bar on an industrial site on a back street in Greytown, just 15 minutes drive from Martinborough.
We offer a small, but delicious lunch and snack menu and all our wines can be enjoyed inside the winery amongst the barrels, on our terrace, or purchased to take home. See our menu here.
We don’t offer formal tastings; visitors can instead try the ‘Alexia Experiment’ - a tasting paddle of 4 of our still wines (you choose from the available selection) for a self-guided tasting experience. Visitors have described the ‘Alexia Experiment’ as one of the best things to do in Wairarapa.
Art lovers can also enjoy our mural ‘Goodly Creatures’ painted by Cromwell based contemporary figurative artist Jen Olson. It really is something. Read about Jen’s process to create the mural here.
Our winery building is a transformer: from March - October we use every inch of our space to make our wines - the place is full of tanks, fermenters, pumps and hoses and grapes…a lot of grapes. From October - late February the tanks move out, we set up our little kitchen, put out the tables and chairs and become a seasonal wine bar and cellar door.
Leashed dogs are welcome. Alexia is also a smoke and vape-free site.
