Hours

The Alexia seasonal wine bar is now temporarily closed between March - October so we can concentrate on our annual harvest season - picking grapes and making wine. We will reopen weekends in October 2025.

In the meantime see our News & Events page for more information about our occasional off-season one day only pop-ups (at Alexia) which are your only chance until October to visit our cellar door.

Our online store is always open, or see our list of stockists to find where you can buy our wine.

The Alexia Experience

Alexia isn’t your usual winery and vineyard experience…in fact we operate in a town with no grapes! But those curious enough explore beyond the wineries of Martinborough and Greytown’s Main Street will be rewarded with the discovery of our little winery and wine bar on Greytown’s West Street.

We offer a delicious lunch and snack menu and all our wines can be enjoyed inside the winery amongst the barrels, on our terrace, or purchased to take home.

We don’t offer formal tastings; instead try the ‘Alexia Experiment’ - a tasting paddle of 4 of our still wines (you choose from the available selection) for a self-guided tasting experience. Visitors have described the ‘Alexia Experiment’ as one of the best things to do in Wairarapa.

Art lovers can also enjoy our mural ‘Goodly Creatures’ painted by Cromwell based contemporary figurative artist Jen Olson. It really is something. Read about Jen’s process to create the mural here.

Our winery building is a transformer: from March - October we use every inch of our space to make our wines - the place is full of tanks, fermenters, pumps and hoses and grapes…a lot of grapes. From October - late February the tanks move out, we set up our little kitchen, put out the tables and chairs and become a seasonal wine bar and cellar door.

Leashed dogs are welcome. Alexia is also a smoke and vape-free site.

Bookings

During our regular season lunch bookings are appreciated.

Payment: For groups who wish to pay separately, we are happy to split a tables total bill evenly by the number of people on the table. For example - a bill for a table of 10 would be divided evenly by 10. We are unable to accomodate any other kind of bill-splitting requests.
